Club Badges
Badges are awarded with Archery GB’s indoor classification scheme with using the following relationship:
Green = Indoor Archer 2
White = Indoor Archer 1
Black = Indoor Bowman 3
Blue = Indoor Bowman 2
Red = Indoor Bowman 1
Gold = Indoor Master Bowman
Purple = Indoor Grand Master Bowman
The same relationship can be applied for other Archery GB recognised indoor rounds, but we have included a guide to Portsmouth and WA18 as they are the most commonly shot rounds at the club.

252 Badges
The 252 scheme is designed to motivate archers to challenge themselves by shooting longer distances outdoors and earn recognition for their achievements. The scheme involves shooting at increasing distances and earning badges to acknowledge an archer's ability to reach these distances. Overall, the 252 scheme is an excellent training opportunity for you to progress towards the round you will be shooting at the annual varsity match!
| 30 Yards | 40 Yards | 50 Yards | 60 Yards | 80 Yards | 100 Yards |
To earn a 252 badge, archers must achieve a specific score based on their bowstyle. They shoot 3 dozen arrows at a target with a 122cm face using a 5-zone scoring system. The distances start at 30 yards and gradually increase up to 100 yards in 10-20 yard increments. Archers are encouraged to shoot the round during their regular practice sessions, and scorecards must be dated and witnessed with the relevant distance recorded. It's possible to back-claim badges, but only one badge can be claimed per distance on the scorecard. For example, you cannot claim a 30 Yards badge with a score from 40 Yards, but you may claim all 50/60/80 yards badges from one Albion score should you achieve the required score for each distance during the round. Badge costs £2 each.
