Hillary 2012 Week 1 Notices
Monday, 16 January 2012
Hello all

First week already! Hope those of you who had collections survived, and as a reward you get to read one of my wonderful emails....
If you are a novice and haven't transfered to the main mailing list please do so, thsi is the last week I will use it.

1-*Session times*
2-*League match*
3-*Club ladder*
4-*Derby BUTTS*
5-*Stash order arrived*

1-*Session times*

Sunday 5-7:30pm Hall
Monday 10am-12 Hall
Tuesday 1-4:30pm Hall *
Thurdsay 2-4:30pm Hall *
Friday 7-8:30pm Hall *
*If you are a beginner and starting archery this term, please come to one / all of the tues, thurs and fri sessions

To those of you who are experienced archers, or those who started last term - we will be having some complete beginners starting this term: it won't be quite as structured as last term, but please help out with coaching them. Lauren will update the regular coaches on the weekly plan, and will tell all the novices about the coaching plan for them this term shortly.

2-*League match*
Next sunday (22nd, sunday of 2nd) - Windrush archers are coming to us for the next leg of the county league. It will take place during the usual session (which will run as normal for those not competing). If you would like to shoot please email me by thursday.

3-*Club ladder*
The club ladder will go live later today. If you are not on the ladder and want to be let me know. The rules are on the website, but in summary: shoot 12 arrows at a portsmouth face, you can challenge anyone above you. One arrow shoot-offs are employed if there is a draw. If you win, you take their place, and they and everyone else drops down one place. If the higher ranked archer wins, there is no change.
This is a really fun way of making training a little more exciting, and only takes 4 ends (or 2 if you are shooting in 6s) so do get involved.
Email me the results (archers and scores), and the ladder will be updated every weekend.

4-*Derby BUTTS*
4th February -experienced archers: please let me know if you want to come. Novices email Lauren ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

5-*Stash order arrived*
Exactly as it says on the tin. Please ask a committee member at a session.

Have a good week,

Matt

Michaelmas 2011 Week 8 Notices
Tuesday, 29 November 2011
Hello everyone

Well done to all who shot at Oxford BUTTS yesterday - one of our best results for many years! The full results are posted on www.buttsleague.com

The experienced team of Matt Langton, Jess Walker, James Dunbar and Lauren Hicks came 2nd with a score of 2225/2400 (out of 8 universities) - the  first time we've had 2nd place for years.
The novice team shot extremely well too - the team of Eleonore Cossade, Nick Pearce, Gary Wolfowicz and Ariella Azoulay scored 1781, coming 5th.

We had a huge hall of individual medals: to Matt Langton (2nd place gents exp. recurve), Jess Walker (3rd place gents exp. recurve), Lauren Hicks (2nd place ladies exp. recurve), Eleonore Cossade (1st place ladies novice recurve), Ariella Azoulay (3rd place ladies novice recurve), Ben Glover (1st place compound) and Annie white (1st place barebow)

Many thanks to all who helped to host the competition yesterday - it all ran very smoothly, and I think everyone enjoyed it too!
